rare 16th century Two Handed Sword
This two handed sword is either Swiss or German. It has a large iron pommel,
leather covered wooden grip (leather is cracked all over showing it's age),
traces of a tassel under the pommel and at the guard. The guard has twin side
rings and Fleur de Lys terminals to the long quillons, which are 19 ¾"
long. Blade is double-edged and flat, with long ricasso and two crescent shaped
lugs at the bottom. Blade is 45 ½", the sword is 63" overall with
nice patina. Sword is in good condition for its age.
