George V Antique Basket Hilt Sword with Black Scabbard, 1910-1936


This is a George V basket hilt sword. The proof mark on the sword is a “P” which is a Harnoan & Company of Calcutta. The grip is of ray skin and dyed black. The scabbard that accompanies this sword is a service scabbard with a metal drag.

The blade is 34 inches long, the engraving on the blade is good and clear. There is some pitting near the point. The basket is good with a few dark spots. The liner shows wear with a  few month holes. The service scabbard has some wear. The ray skin grip is in good condition.
